Cost of Energy Saving Products to Increase from April 2016
The government has confirmed that the reduced rate of VAT, currently 5%, on installations of energy saving products will rise to 20% in 2016.
This is due to be introduced from the Finance Act 2016 so will be effective from 01.04.16 and is to bring in-line the UK legislation with the EU
People considering having energy saving products installed to their homes should look at the timings of their purchase as this extra vat liability will be incurred after the 2016 date.
