HMRC are making moves towards improving customer service. It has been reported HMRC will spend £45m to improve their service.

The money will pay for 3000 staff to join customer service teams. HMRC statistics reveal that they receive more than 60 million calls a year with around 27.5% of calls being unanswered.

The figures also showed that in some months in the year the lines were so busy that one in five could not join a queue.

Any improvements will be warmly welcomed.
